KUALA LUMPUR, 21 September 2016 – A total of five organisations comprising two primary schools, one secondary school and two non-profit organisations received a total of 45 sets of desktops and laptops from Acer Malaysia over the last three weeks. The donated equipment were previously used in a table tennis championship in which Acer was a sponsor; the units were returned after the event and have since been completely refurbished for a second life.

The beneficiary schools were Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina San Min, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Chung Pin Linggi and Chung Hua High School, while the organisations were Community Transformation Initiative and Community Excel Services. All five recipients are dependent on public support and funding to provide education or skills training to their students and members.

“Acer Malaysia is pleased to support these organisations that need a helping hand in shaping the future of the next generation. We believe these computers will be put to good use for teaching and learning purposes, and enable the schools and organisations to conduct lessons more creatively. As an established brand in Malaysia, Acer is always supportive of programmes that invest into children and education as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives,” said Chan Weng Hong, General Manager of Sales, Product and Marketing of Acer Sales & Services Sdn Bhd.

The desktops donated are from the compact Acer Aspire XC, which are perfect for different uses from multimedia creativity and HD entertainment in classrooms to administrative and educational materials development in the teacher room.

The laptops are from the Acer Aspire ES14 and Acer One 14 series which provide the performance power for full day classroom presentations or demonstrative classes, and tracking student progress as well as day-to-day teaching records.
