Putrajaya– ZTE Corporation, a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, recently showcased AI expertise at PLANMalaysia and PERSADA urban planning forums.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries, economies, and the way cities are designed. In urban planning, AI is optimizing infrastructure, improving sustainability, and enhancing decision-making.
Recognizing its importance, ZTE was invited to share its expertise at forums organized by the Town and Country Planning Department (PLANMalaysia) and the Malaysian Town and Country Planning Officers Association (PERSADA).
Through ZTE University, its technology knowledge-sharing platform, ZTE highlighted its AI-driven innovations in telecommunications, smart cities, and digital infrastructure, emphasizing the need for advanced technologies in shaping future-ready urban landscapes.
At the forums, which were attended by 260 participants, including town planners, urban planning officers, and industry professionals, Senior Expert from ZTE University, Mr. Zhang Ting, shared key insights into the latest AI advancements in urban planning.
The AI Visionary forum at Everly Hotel Putrajaya, organized in collaboration with PERSADA, explored how AI is transforming industries. The following day, the Advanced Technologies and Applications That Are Changing the World forum, held at PLANMalaysia, highlighted cutting-edge innovations that redefine city development and infrastructure planning.
Through these engagements, ZTE aims to inspire participants by showcasing real-world AI applications, helping them understand how emerging technologies can optimize urban development, improve efficiency, and drive smarter decision-making. The sessions provided valuable perspectives on integrating AI into policy frameworks and town planning strategies, ensuring that Malaysia remains at the forefront of digital innovation.
Datuk TPr Dr. Alias Rameli, Director General of Town and Country Planning, emphasized that AI is an indispensable tool in modern urban planning.
“The field of urban planning cannot afford to overlook the capabilities of AI in optimizing decision-making and resource management. In line with the smart city agenda, AI offers enhanced capabilities that will drive greater efficiency and sustainability in urban development,” he said.
