realme retains its top-five position for the third consecutive quarter

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 14 November 2023 – Despite a softening global smartphone market, realme, the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, has retained its top-five position in the Malaysian market for the third consecutive quarter. According to Canalys’ Q3 2023 report, in the third quarter of 2023, the smartphone brand achieved an annual growth of 211% for sell-in shipments.

realme is also the only smartphone brand on the top five list with positive annual growth for three consecutive quarters. It has achieved an annual growth of 22% and 18% in the first and second quarters of 2023, respectively.

realme Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Marcus Lin said: “We are thankful for being the top five smartphone brands in Malaysia. Despite our humble beginning in the ‘red-sea market’ five years ago, we managed to navigate the tough market and found ourselves in the top five ranks. The stellar performance is a testament to our belief that seniority is not the key to changing the world, but innovation. As a brand with an average employee age of 27 years old, we are committed to maintaining a close bond with the Malaysian youth and being their preferred smartphone brand.

“We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the business partners and realme fans for your unwavering support. We will continue to provide leap-forward product offerings. We hope you will continue to support realme,” added Marcus.

Driven by the ‘No Leap No Launch’ aspiration, realme aims to continue introducing leap-forward technologies and unique products that tackle users’ pain points, offering them an unrivalled mobile experience. Research and Development (R&D) remains a significant focus of realme, as the brand is increasing its investment in R&D by 58% year-on-year to make essential tech innovations more accessible.

realme Plans to Launch a New GT Smartphone by the End of the Year

The brand’s deep commitment to product innovation is reflected in two smartphone series: the Number series and the C series.

Launched in July 2023, the latest realme 11 Pro+ 5G is equipped with the world’s first 200MP OIS SuperZoom with 4x in-sensor zoom, providing photography buffs and life enthusiasts an avenue to unleash their creativity without limits. The trendy-looking smartphone is also a culmination of fashion meets tech, boasting an elegant, delightful design co-created with Matteo Menotto, a former print and textile designer at Gucci.

The brand’s strategic upgrades to its C-series can also be seen in the realme C55, C53 and C51, which debuted earlier this year. Through these products, realme can introduce more essential innovations, such as enhanced camera capabilities, flash charging and Android’s first Mini Capsule, at a competitive price, making great technology accessible to every consumer.

However, this is just the beginning of realme’s journey. The brand is slated to launch a GT series smartphone in the Malaysian market by the end of 2023.
