Ungku Omar Polytechnic made history today by collaborating with Samsung Malaysia Electronics to establish the Samsung Hybrid Room and Samsung Education Center. The inauguration was officiated by the Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of the Ministry of Higher Education, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany Bin Megat Ahmad Supian, at the main campus of Ungku Omar Polytechnic.

 

The event was attended by the Head of Customer Satisfaction Department, Teng Kah Wee, and the Director of Corporate Affairs Department at Samsung Malaysia Electronics, YBhg. Dato’ Roh Jae Yeol, representing Samsung Malaysia.

 

Samsung has been a strategic partner of PUO since 2023. Through their ongoing collaboration, Samsung has donated equipment for teaching and learning purposes for ASASI TVET students. This includes the Samsung Edu Center and Samsung Hybrid Classroom, which allow for interactive lectures using the latest technology.

 

This partnership benefits Samsung by showcasing its cutting-edge technology in an educational setting, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility, and fostering a positive brand image among future professionals. By supporting education, Samsung helps develop a skilled workforce familiar with its technology, potentially leading to future innovations and market opportunities.

 

In the same ceremony, Ungku Omar Polytechnic celebrated the first cohort of 91 ASASI TVET students who successfully completed their studies. This celebration, known as the PUO ASASI TVET Student Excellence Appreciation Ceremony, was also attended by the Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of the Ministry of Higher Education, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany Bin Megat Ahmad Supian.

 

The students were recognized with various excellence awards for their achievements in academics, co-curricular activities, leadership, and personal character.

 

YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany Bin Megat Ahmad Supian expressed his appreciation to the students for their accomplishments and wished them continued success. He emphasized the Ministry of Higher Education’s commitment to maintaining strategic and strong collaborative relationships with industry and the community. Through this collaboration, students gain the skills and knowledge needed in the industry.

 

Also present at the ceremony were the Senior Academic Director of JPPKK, Mr. Mohd Noor bin Shahudin, the Directors of the JPPKK Division, and the Directors of Perak Zone Polytechnic and Community College.
